Motorway sites improved

Motorway service area operator Roadchef has appointed UKWSL as its national waste and recycling contractor for the next three years.

The contract covers 30 locations nationwide and is estimated at around £3m.

Roadchef has installed three sections to its waste container systems: general waste, mixed recycling and liquid, making it easy for customers to determine where to put their waste.

There is also an on-site compost system for the company to recycle leftover coffee grounds. Within eight weeks the compost is ready to be reused to enrich soil.
