New fleet follows merger of council services

Kettering Borough Council and Corby Borough Council are merging their waste, recycling, grounds and cleansing services, starting with the procurement of a new fleet of vehicles, due for delivery this month.

Corby’s current service, which has been outsourced for 10 years, will be brought back in-house. Kettering will be the lead authority for the new shared service.

Contract hire and fleet management company Specialist Fleet Services will be providing the fleet of 35 vehicles, including Dennis Eagle Olympus 21 refuse collection vehicles fitted with an OmniDEL Xtra bin lift, recycling vehicles, sweepers, tipper trucks and transit vans.
