New materials test facility opened

Following an increase in the demand for materials testing, Bunting Magnetics Europe has constructed a test facility at its Master Magnets manufacturing operation in Redditch. The facility will initially house two models of stainless steel magnetic separator and an eddy current separator.

The stainless steel separator is used to remove either weakly magnetic materials from the primary product to produce a clean recycled material or to recover valuable materials such as stainless steel and PCBs.

The strength of the magnetic field is far greater than standard magnetic separators, extending the separation capabilities from simply removing ferrous and strongly magnetic materials to materials that have a very low magnetic susceptibility.

Bunting’s eddy current separators are designed to separate non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, and can be used for most applications. They come in four belt widths: 600mm, 900mm, 1,200mm and 1,500mm.
