Nipping in and out of London's heavy traffic

2000 bywaters caged vehicle

Bywaters has taken delivery of two 3.5-tonne cage-tipper vehicles to provide a rapid response in London’s difficult traffic conditions for customers including councils, hospitals, universities and businesses.

The vehicles are small enough to travel through busy traffic more efficiently than larger trucks, without the hindrance of width, height or parking restrictions. This means they can carry out more efficient kerbside collections.

The two cage-tippers are the latest additions to Bywaters’ £7m fleet of 62 eco-friendly vehicles comprising 25 dustcarts, five tail-lift vehicles, 13 skip-loaders and 17 hook-loaders. All vehicles meet Euro 5/6 emission standards to produce quieter operations and reduced carbon emissions.

Exhaust fittings filter out harmful substances while cameras and audible alarms alert the public of a vehicle’s presence.

All Bywaters vehicles servicing the capital have an on-board Dynafleet system, which monitors and tracks both the vehicle’s environmental sustainability and the driver’s driving patterns and behaviour.
