Plant protected from fire

Stourbridge-based Argus Fire has secured a £1m contract to protect an energy-from-waste plant from fire.

It has been commissioned by Mercia Waste Management to design and build fire prevention systems for the EnviRecover facility at Hartlebury Trading Estate near Stourport.

Argus’s Special Risks Department has already started work on installing mechanical water-based fire protection systems, fire detection and alarm systems and gas suppression systems, with the project scheduled to finish in May.

The company is also providing Mercia with 3D design information to support its installation co-ordination process.
