RCVs are ready to drive for quick response

Mick George has ordered three refuse collection vehicles (RCVs)from supplier Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS) via its RediTruck range of new, ready-to-drive refuse vehicles. The vehicles are one DAF and two Mercedes Econic chassis with Olympus bodies, fitted with Beta trade bin lifts.

Lukasz Borodziuk, head of operations at Mick George, said: “We need to respond quickly to changes in demand, for example if we win a new tender. If we need new vehicles we inevitably need them immediately. And if a vehicle breaks down, we can’t afford the downtime – we need to replace it straight away to maintain our service levels.”

The RediTruck offer provides new RCVs without having to wait typical manufacturers’ six to nine-month lead times. RVS also offers a range of support services such as repairs, maintenance, hire vehicles, parts, field repairs, quality used vehicles and remanufacturing services.

Paul Brown, RVS commercial director, said: “If we haven’t got a vehicle available right away from stock, we operate a large hire fleet so we can usually get a vehicle to the customer on the same day.”
