The Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading has improved its waste system with a CB65X semiauto baler from Durapak alongside a Ludden & Mennekes RPK Type wet waste compactor.
Following a review with Compact & Bale, The Oracle’s waste company ABM now produces 750kg bales instead of the 400kg bales from its previous equipment, while the smaller footprint compactor is perfect for the high volume of wet waste. By consistently producing top-quality bales, The Oracle is now able to maximise income by earning rebates for them.
With a 1,100 x 1,750mm infeed aperture, the CB65X is suited to large and bulky materials and shovel/forklift loading, so the shopping centre staff save hours of labour by not having to break up waste materials manually ready for recycling. The RPK Type’s self-cleaning scoop action ram is specifically designed to compact wet, food and organic waste.
Innes Collins, environmental services manager at ABM, said: “We need to be maximising recycling opportunities.”
