Removal of metals from vehicle liquids

The vehicle manufacturing process has its own solids pumping challenges, such as handling the difficult combination of metallic waste, cutting oils and coolants generated by the large machines operating on engine and transmission manufacture.

To process this type of waste, Ford’s engine plants at Dagenham, London, and Bridgend in south Wales are using a system developed by P&M Pumps that incorporates Vaughan chopper pumps, an integral component of what is a return system to treat recycling production waste.

This makes an effective, all-in-one combination of shredder and pump which enables the recycling of some cutting oils and coolants thanks to the effective removal of solids and metallic waste.
