Rubber chips made in one pass

Tyre recycling is no longer a problem for FJD Tyres in Mansfield. Eldan Recycling has commissioned a multi-purpose rasper (MPR160T) for processing whole car tyres into equestrian rubber chip material in one pass.

Eldan’s UK branch manager Peter Jones said: “The MPR has many features which made it the perfect fit for the recycling line at FJD Tyres. It has an exchangeable screen size system which enables it to produce different outputs, such as tyre-derived fuel or rubber chips. It can also be used to process already shredded tyres.”

FJD Tyres can now process up to two tonnes an hour of whole tyres to 20mm rubber chips that are free from wire. The steel wire is removed during production so the customer can sell wire-free material.
