Wastecycle’s £1m East Midlands investment has coincided with recognition in awards given by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Wastecycle, which processes more than 500,000 tonnes of waste at its Leicester and Nottingham facilities each year, has invested in eight vehicles so it can meet increased demands for its services. The company has already taken delivery of four DAF vehicles, with a further two DAFs and two Mercedes trucks arriving soon.
The vehicles offer low emission levels, fuel efficiency and safety features such as a four-way camera system, cycle radar and emergency braking systems.
In the RoSPA awards, the company received its eighth consecutive gold medal along with a silver fleet award.
Paul Clements, commercial director at Wastecycle said: “The DAF and Mercedes vehicles boast some incredible safety features.”
