Seven-year hire deal

Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council has opted for contract hire rather than purchase to replace its waste and recycling vehicle fleet.

The seven-year contract with Specialist Fleet Services (SFS) includes refuse collection vehicles, sweepers, hook loaders and box vans. SFS will maintain the vehicles at the council’s depot.

Hinckley & Bosworth used to outsource its dry recycling service but has decided to bring it back in-house. From April it will be collecting commingled recyclables from local households, changing the rounds to increase efficiency and adding an extra round due to housing growth.
