Commercial waste management company Ellgia has invested in an industrial Tana Shark 440 DT shredder for its Scunthorpe site to enhance its refuse-derived and solid recovered fuel production capability and minimise waste being sent to landfill.
Cameron Murdoch, technical director, said: “This addition to our plant is part of a series of investments in the coming year which will allow us to improve our recycling rates and give us waste disposal flexibility.”
Tana Shark waste shredders enable control over the particle size of 50-500mm (2-20in), with the possibility to perform shredding in just one pass. This is the key to lowering both fuel and labour costs for every shredding process.
A side door gives fast access to the hopper and rotor, and is a smooth way to remove any non-crushable materials from the hopper.
It also provides easy access to change the counter knife settings and rotor knives.
