Snug fit for hammer mill

Launched at IFAT, German-based Erdwich Zerkleinerungssysteme has adapted its hammer mill HA800 for smaller throughput volumes.

The HA600 has more compact dimensions than earlier models because a lack of space can be a problem for many businesses.

It is particularly suitable for processing hard and brittle, pre- shredded non-ferrous materials such as scrap metal and electrical and electronic scrap made of steel and aluminium. The destruction of data media installed in vehicles is another field of application.

The HA600’s power is 1145kW, and the speed range is between 1,000 and 1,800 revolutions. The throughput of non-ferrous metals is around 800kg/hr.

The hammer mills are of a closed construction, which are optimised by special shaft and housing sealings and corresponding extraction points. This leads to a dust-free operation and a low risk to the health of operators.
