North Wiltshire’s Thamesdown Recycling has been operating in the secure document, data and product destruction sector for more than 25 years. Customers include pubs, clubs, councils and food and drink manufacturers.
The business needs to keep track of where its vehicles are, especially when they may be carrying sensitive information or cargoes attractive to thieves.
Logistics manager Rob Baker said: “We chose AGM Telematics’ routeMASTER tracking software after looking at a couple of different demos. It was the best system for us because of what it can actually do and how easy it is to use.”
RouteMASTER is a cloud-based modular toolset comprising Planner, Dispatch and Tracking. Each module can be used individually or together to provide an end-to-end logistics back-office solution. The mapping platform updates automatically every quarter and software updates are free for the life of the system.
“Just by tracking and monitoring vehicles, we are able to keep an eye on drivers’ downtime and alter the scheduling to allow for it,” said Baker. “If anybody is running late or delayed at a collection, we can simply swap the jobs around so everything still gets covered and our customers’ needs are met as they have been promised.”
