Triple sorting of flakes

Tomra Sorting Recycling’s latest Autosort Flake features simultaneous triple-sorting capability.

It combines colour detection and enhanced material information to maximise the recovery of high-quality recycled products.

Its next-generation sensor technology also detects metal, while the twin-processing mode offers customers the best possible waste throughput together with a constant high-calibre output, all from one single machine.

Autosort Flake deploys Tomra’s patented Flying Beam technology combined with the Fourline 2mm optic module, which is currently the highest available near-infra red resolution on the market. This feature offers continuous calibration to eliminate errors that can lead to costly downtime.

David Bourge, plant manager of Suez Regene Atlantique, said: “By combining the Autosort bottle sorter with Autosort Flake, we have increased our high-quality product yield by 200%.

“And through the central control computer, we are able to monitor and improve our production on a realtime basis. At every stage, the investment decision has resulted in quick payback”
