World first in PC/ABS

Plastics recycling and technology company MBA Polymers has started the world’s first commercial production line for the manufacture of post-consumer PC/ABS pellets – a thermoplastic resin – from shredded waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

The plant is at MBA’s facility at Kematen, Austria, and its product will be distributed under the EvoSource name.

PC/ABS is used in a range of electronic products such as computer monitors, cellphones and laptops. Post-consumer PC/ABS will be a vital part of meeting the growing global demand for sustainable materials in some of the largest markets in the world, such as automotive, electrical and consumer electronics.
