Lamps and bulbs together

Balcan Engineering, a designer and manufacturer of bulb and lamp recycling systems, has supplied a Balcan MP4000 to startup business Lamps4U in Dubai.

Formed earlier this year, Lamps4U is a light fixtures, bulbs and LED manufacturer and distributor, which is expanding its services to cover collection, disposal and recycling.

Thanks to its two loading areas for linear and whole or crushed lamps, the MP4000 can handle up to 1,500 linear tubes an hour. Lamps and bulbs can be processed at the same time for efficiency.

The machine recycles all elements of lamps safely, with the metal end caps and glass separated and cleaned. A dust filter collects the mercury-bearing phosphor powder, while the toxic mercury vapour is drawn through an active carbon filter ensuring that only clean air is released into the atmosphere.
