The Environment Agency has crushed a green Ford Transit linked to unlawful dumping of rubbish in Surrey.
This marked the second time in a month that that the agency has crushed a vehicle used for fly-tipping.
It found the van in Leatherhead after a tip-off by enforcement officers at Mole Valley District Council.
Waste criminals had broken into several sites across the south-east and filled them with building materials and other rubbish, leaving the owners with large clean-up bills.
EA enforcement manager for Surrey Daniel Kettridge said: “We crushed this van to take one more vehicle used in waste crime off the road, and to send a message to anyone thinking of dumping waste on an industrial scale – your van or lorry could be next.”
