Hazardous waste specialist bought by CSG

CSG has acquired Merseyside-based industrial waste specialist Remondis UK.

Remondis provides specialist recycling of hazardous and photographic waste, silver recovery and transfrontier shipments, and already operates from CSG’s waste processing facility at Cadishead, near Warrington.

Remondis was the first company to be granted a transfrontier shipment licence to transfer hazardous waste out of the UK for processing or use in energy generation overseas.

In 2013, the company opened a £10m hazardous waste transfer and recycling facility in Prescot.

CSG managing director Neil Richards said: “This acquisition ensures CSG remains at the forefront of waste recovery and recycling.

”The processing capability delivered by Remondis perfectly complements our existing specialist services, and enables us to offer a complete range of waste management solutions for industrial customers.

“Like us, the Remondis Group is a family-run business, dedicated to the recovery of raw materials and minimising waste going to landfill. So we see excellent potential in this deal to grow and develop CSG in coming months and years, especially in the area of diverting waste for use in energy generation.”
