Hills Waste Solutions extends footprint with takeover

Hills Waste Solutions, the Swindon-based waste management and recycling company, has acquired Able Waste Management to expand its operations into the Bristol and Bath area.

Able Waste Management has 33 employees and runs commercial waste recycling and food collections, as well as trade and residential skip services, with a fleet of 16 vehicles.

Based at Hallen Estate, Avonmouth, Bristol, the business was set up by Steve Hale and Martin Williams, who will remain with the business as depot manager and operations superviser, respectively.

Gary McKinnon, divisional director of Hills Waste Solutions (left), said: “This acquisition gives Hills a base in Bristol which has been identified as one of the top 20 growth areas in the country.

”It provides an excellent platform to expand waste collection services in line with our existing activities, and opens up new opportunities to tender for business in the Bristol and Bath areas.”

Hale (right) said: “This acquisition and the investment that Hills brings will take the business to another level and I am sure it will be a success.”

Hills Waste Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Hills Group, a privately owned family company established in 1900.
