Man crushed to death at Midlands plant

A man was killed last week in a collision between two HGV lorries at a recycling plant in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, West Midlands Police have said.

The police said it was understood one of the lorries rolled into another, trapping the victim between the two. Neither lorry was manned.

Ambulance staff were unable save him and the man, thought to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for C&J Recycling said: “Our thoughts are with his family at this tragic time.”

The Health and Safety Executive said it was aware of the incident and was working with the police on an investigation
