Management buyout for skip manufacturer

Skip Units, part of the Ramshorn group, has been acquired by the group’s finance director Richard Stamps in a management buyout.

Derby-based Skip Units describes itself on its website as the biggest UK manufacturer of large waste containers. Set up 40 years ago, it offers bespoke design and production of containers from two manufacturing sites across which it employs close to 100 people.

As part of the buyout – which took nine months for Stamps and his advisors to complete – existing shareholders will leave the company as ownership goes to Stamps.

He said: “I am proud to have completed this transaction and, in doing so, put myself in a position to continue the legacy that my predecessors established over the last 25 years.

“I would like to pay testament to the inspirational leadership the shareholders have shown during the past 25 years, which has culminated in them mentoring me for this day.”

Stamps also highlighted the specialist advice from Smith Cooper, HSBC and Geldards.
