EMR has bought the London-based Metal & Waste Recycling company which has 12 sites across the UK.
A statement from the purchasing company said the deal went through on 25 August.
“The two companies have many similar cultural values so we believe the acquisition process will go very smoothly.
“We are maintaining a ‘business as usual’ approach during the transition to minimise any impact for our employees and customers.”
The Metal & Waste website says the company processes more than 800,000 tonnes a year of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The company roots go back to 1970 when GAD Holdings was formed.
In 2005 it was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise For International Trade and became Metal & Waste Recycling.
