Waste management firm Mick George has won a contract with Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service to provide waste management at 14 operating locations across the UK, including its headquarters.
The 12-month agreement includes scheduled weekly or fortnightly collections of general and recycled materials from 35 containers across the various premises.
Mick George said that one of the main factors in the decision to award it the contract was the ability to provide a sustainable and fully auditable zero-to-landfill waste management solution.
Kelly Hinkley, facilities supervisor at Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The switch not only offered cost and efficiency savings but it also means we are working with our collaborative partners, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Mick George also assist us in fulfilling our commitment to improving our environmental impact.’’
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service covers all areas served by Central Bedfordshire Council, Bedford Borough Council and Luton Borough Council.
Last year, Mick George won a contract with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and more recently with Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
