Newark-based waste manager UKWSL has kicked off a contract to manage waste and recycling at more than 1,000 pubs for the Marston’s chain.
The three-year deal covers dry mixed recycling, glass, food and general waste with the aim of a 50% recycling rate at every site.
Max Kanda, director of corporate affairs at UKWSL, said the company was delighted: “I am positive we will provide Marston’s with a service that deliver both excellent value and a highly sustainable waste solution.”
UKWSL was founded in 2003 and employs 47 people serving clients including Network Rail and Balfour Beatty. It has a goal of more than doubling revenue to £40m in the next five years, creating around 200 jobs across the group.
