Suspected manslaughter at recycling site

A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after another man died at a recycling centre in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police were called at around 7.30pm on 12 October by the Ambulance Service to Cardboard for Cash’s site on Liverpool Street, Digbeth.

The police said that, despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and is in custody. Officers are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the cause of the incident.

The victim has not yet been identified. The company has been contacted for comment.
