“The culture of this company is very much aligned with the Smurfit Kappa philosophy, having built excellent businesses in selected customer and product sectors which will add to our existing strengths.
“These acquisitions support our continued drive to ‘open the future’ within the UK packaging market, further developing our customer offer, brand and reputation in a way that truly sets us apart.”
Saxon was established with a workforce of three which has since grown to more than 50. Its customer base is in Suffolk, East Anglia and the Home Counties.
In 2014 the company installed a biomass boiler fuelled by recycled wood pellets to replace its oil-operated heating system.
Smurfit Kappa UK is a subsidiary of the global Smurfit Kappa Group, which is quoted on the London and Irish stock exchanges.
