Materials handler is made of strong stuff for waste work

The Volvo EW210D materials handler has made its debut on the UK market.

The machine is designed for a range of duties such as waste material handling, loading and unloading highsided bulkers and rail freight wagons – applications that demand good optimum reach and superior operator visibility.

It is based on the standard Volvo EW210D, with the handler version being reinforced around the boom foot and machine superstructure to cope with typical applications.

It has a hydraulically operated operator’s compartment, four stabilisers as standard, solid wheels and tyres, a purpose-built straight 6.5m materials handling boom and a 5m grab arm.

The EW210D MH weighs 23.3 tonnes and is powered by a Stage IIIB Volvo six-litre engine developing 169 net hp and a maximum torque of Nm758 at 1,500rpm.

The closed centre hydraulic system with pressurecompensated valves provides independent movement of all hydraulic functions, with the main hydraulic pump delivering 420 litres per minute.
