MVV plans £100m plant in Scotland

Plans have been submitted for a £100m combined heat and power plant near Dundee, according to local media.

The Courier says that MVV Environment, a subsidiary of German firm MVV Energie, is in discussion with Dundee City and Angus councils about the scheme, which would create 20 permanent jobs and another 300 during the construction phase.

Plans for the facility, on the site of an existing incinerator at Baldovie, are being put on display for public consultation from 29 June.

Paul Carey, managing director at MVV Environment, is quoted as saying: “Although our investment proposals are at a very early stage, we believe that transparent effective community consultation is an essential part of the planning process.”
