The entry period for the sector’s prestigious National Recycling Awards (NRAs) has been extended until 11 February.
The leading industry event, organised by MRW, will be held on 6 July at the Park Lane Hilton in London.
There are 17 categories, selected to recognise all areas of resource management and key parts of the wider economy such as the retail, food, local government, healthcare, construction and the service sectors.
The NRAs reward excellence across the industry and address recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
MRW editor Robin Latchem said the winners would be showing that their efforts were as much about the bottom line as the environment.
“To win, entrants must demonstrate effective strategy, tangible improvement, innovative and creative solutions, and a strong business case,” he said.
“Last year was the first since we established the NRAs at the turn of the century in which those who had done well enough to get on the shortlist presented their entries to the judges in the flesh.
“The feedback from entrants and judges alike was that this was a much richer experience and brought alive the best of the best practice that the NRAs are all about.”
