    nicholas mattey's comment 21 June, 2019 3:14 pm

There are significant health risks from incinerators. They generate large amounts of traffic , MSW the preferred fuel comes in heavy vehicles with small payloads . The forecast traffic is always a much lower figure than the actual . The incinerator Operators always push the local councils to burn extra waste. The millions of tonnes of Carbon Dioxide they produces accelerates global warming. Flooding and high temperatures are certainly bad for the health if not fatal . Then there is the increased risk of birth defects

  • Comment on: Sadiq Khan accused of being 'ill-informed' over EfW

    nicholas mattey's comment 22 May, 2019 4:38 pm

Good for Sadiq Kahn at last the penny has dropped that burning waste is irresponsible and an idiotic short term solution

  • Comment on: UKWIN incineration report ‘deeply flawed’

    nicholas mattey's comment 26 October, 2018 6:18 pm

Obviously the incinerator industry want Incinerators everywhere . They are a licence to print money and destroy the planet at the same time

  • Comment on: EfW shortage 'will lead to south-east landfill crisis'

    nicholas mattey's comment 9 October, 2018 6:37 pm

This is pure fantasy. Once councils start recycling at anywhere near Welsh levels the Incinerators will be starved of fuel The last thing we need are more polluting green house gas generating Incinerators

  • Comment on: London EfW to be built on public borrowing

    nicholas mattey's comment 8 October, 2018 4:41 pm

I cannot wait for the government to introduce a hefty incineration tax to stop councillors with little or no grasp of the threat posed by global warming approving Incinerators . It’s lunacy to burn rubbish and release millions of tonnes of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. These overpaid jobsworth are putting a curse on the future of the planet.
