Obviously the incinerator industry want Incinerators everywhere . They are a licence to print money and destroy the planet at the same time

This is pure fantasy. Once councils start recycling at anywhere near Welsh levels the Incinerators will be starved of fuel The last thing we need are more polluting green house gas generating Incinerators

I cannot wait for the government to introduce a hefty incineration tax to stop councillors with little or no grasp of the threat posed by global warming approving Incinerators . It’s lunacy to burn rubbish and release millions of tonnes of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. These overpaid jobsworth are putting a curse on the future of the planet.

We are all glad that London Mayor Sadiq Kahn has said no more Incinerators for London. I am sure he will stand by his commitment and not be swayed by the incinerator lobby. It’s a short term solution that makes a lot of money for operators but nothing else .

Burning material pollutes and sends vast amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. The only way to stop this lunacy is to tax incinerator. We only have the one planet and incinerators do nothing to protect future generations. They make excellent profits for shareholders but the social and economic cost is unacceptable. Let’s have a swingeing tax just like we have on tobacco .
