Every year through MRW’s National Recycling Awards we discover truly ground-breaking initiatives, technology and services. This year is no exception, and more than 600 people came together to celebrate at the London Hilton on Park Lane. It marked the culmination of a tough judging process, with entries submitted from across the UK.
Finalists and industry figures also met earlier at the daytime conference. This popular addition to the awards covered some of the most crucial challenges facing the sector, from deposit return schemes and modern day slavery to cybercrime and digitisation.
Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about industry campaigns from their peers at live judging sessions held at the venue throughout the day.
There has been intense public scrutiny of our sector recently, and there is quite rightly a lot of concern about where our waste ends up. The award winners, and those shortlisted, show that our industry has the inspiration, expertise and enthusiasm to meet these challenges and lead from the front.
