Processing waste for fuel

Installation of DynaGrate technology at the Peterborough energy recovery facility (ERF) was celebrated at an event earlier this month.

Attendees included members of Viridor, Interserve, BW Volund, Fichtner and Peterborough City Council.

Speaking at the event, Jan Kristoffersen, BW Volund’s director of project management, said: “Today’s DynaGrate can process a wide range of waste compositions without breaking down or polluting, making it ideal for a stable and sustainable electricity production to a city such as Peterborough.” ›

Once operational late in 2015, the plant will produce 7.25MW of electricity, equivalent to that required by around 15% of homes in Peterborough.
