Production capacity boost

Wheeled bin manufacturer MGB Plastics, part of the OnePlastics Group, has invested a seven-figure sum in new machinery to help increase production and target new markets.

A 2,700-tonne Krauss Maffei injection moulding machine has been installed at its Rotherham factory. The tool will mean reduced set-up times, leading to increased flexibility and energy efficiency combined with shorter production lead times.

Karl Stillman, OnePlastics group sales director, says the machine will help to service existing client requirements while building on its client base: “We are delighted to have acquired this new machine, which is central to our long-term plans and a perfect complement to our existing portfolio.

“We are seeing strong order levels from clients within all of our chosen market sectors, and are expecting a record-breaking year in 2015.”

The company has increased the manufacturing capacity at its Rotherham factory to two million plastic bins and kitchen caddies annually.
