Headline

UK capacity gap for plastics exports '375,000 tonnes'

Comment

Thanks Simon, we were advised this by the PRC in 2015 way before the proposed ban. It was before then (in 2009) that we had suggested to the PRC that they ban importing waste from the west altogether. At long last they have taken this on board. The waste industry should now use its efforts to deal with the issue as the PRC have been doing in their response to the 29 million tonnes of its own plastics it has been generating on its own. And fortunately they have agreed with us that it is not such a problem at all.
