SWR secures London hotels deal

Waste management firm SWR has secured a contract to deal with all waste from Morgan Hotel Group’s two London hotels.

SWR will manage waste at the St Martins Lane and Sanderson hotels, aiming to boost recycling levels from 26% to 80%.

Morgan owns and operates 12 boutique hotels across the US and in the UK.

Regional financial controller for Sanderson and St Martins Lane Ralf Albus said: “SWR has completely changed the layout of the waste collection area and introduced signage that makes waste segregation a very straightforward process, immediately increasing the potential for improved recycling.”

SWR has introduced a mixed recycling compactor as well as a glass crushing machine (pictured).

SWR chief executive Giles Whiteley said: “SWR looks closely at the types of waste a business produces and implements simple waste management solutions designed to make life easier for everyone involved.”
