Lipp Systems UK reports that uptake of its flexible tank storage design to the anaerobic digestion market has been “surprisingly swift” since its introduction this year.
The Lipp Dual-Seam system is already used in around 50,000 tank installations around the world for storage of solid and liquid materials as well as gas.
The technology includes a steel composite sheet material which allows strip material to be formed into a rigid tank structure with a gas tight seal that has excellent resistance to aggressive liquids. It allows the tank storage system to be constructed to meet the exact requirements of the application.
The tanks are self-supporting with a diameter of up to 40m, while the tank material is specified to suit the substrate to ensure maximum resistance to corrosion.
The tanks can be designed as basic open-topped containers, gas storage tanks, bulk material silos or anaerobic digesters. Lipp Systems manufactures the tank on-site and produces all pipework and support structures.
