Technology News - 27 July 2013

William Tracey Group together with its sister entities has signed an agreement worth over £1m with environmental technology and software developer AMCS Group.

The investment is being supported by Scottish Enterprise and will play a significant role in delivering the Group’s commitment to Zero Waste for all its customers, while reducing operating costs and enabling it to increase growth.

Under the agreement, the Group will replace and consolidate a number of labour intensive and costly to maintain legacy IT systems with AMCS’ latest software suite ELEMOS, designed specifically to increase operational efficiency.

AMCS will also install new onboard computers providing drivers with real time two-way communication between vehicles and the Group’s offices, dynamic weighing and radio frequency identification technology.

Drivers will be provided with handheld tablet style devices to reduce paperwork and improve data accuracy.

This will allow automation and optimisation of a number of tasks.
