Vehicle manufacturer Dennis Eagle has launched DennisConnect, a telematics system which will be fitted as standard to all new Elite chassis and Olympus bodies.
Designed to improve efficiency and minimise downtime, the sys- tem monitors the health of vehicles in the field from a remote location. If an issue develops, it will automatically transmit fault codes to Dennis Eagle’s technical support centre, giving the location of the vehicle.
This allows the company to diagnose the fault, convert the code into a list of parts required to repair the vehicle, and allocate the closest engineer with the most suitable skills for repair.
The technology can also help Dennis Eagle to identify defect trends and introduce preventive programmes while offering smarter service and maintenance scheduling for chassis and bodies.
DennisConnect also acts as a platform for further operational modules designed to increase performance. These include the Waste Operator module, which features full vehicle tracking down to street level, and the Fuel Saver pack, which enables engine remapping and has a dynamic shift control system and acceleration rate management to increase fuel efficiency and reduce
