Dedicated to food waste collection

Ubico collects household waste from 233,400 households on behalf of Cheltenham Borough, Cotswold District, Stroud District, Tewkesbury Borough and West Oxfordshire District councils. As part of its development plans, 21 dedicated food waste collection vehicles were purchased.

The vehicles come from the Farid Hillend Engineering Mini Compactor range, which are all Farid Micro L variants, fully sealed and mounted on Isuzu 7.5-tonne GVW chassis cabs.

Features of the Micro L include: fully sealed one-piece high-tensile steel body for high strength with guaranteed no leakages; small footprint, compact and highly manoeuvrable; Farid FAI integral comb bin lift fitted as standard, capable of handling 120-1,100-litre bins plus food waste caddies or ‘slave type’ bins; and a hand loading option by optional side access doors.

The top-mounted, fully enclosed compaction blade offers 3.5:1 compaction, and the unloading of waste by tipping ensures the complete discharge of waste materials and residual liquids. It is suitable for tipping into skips, rolonof containers and satellite discharge operation.
