Trucks keep their cool

Recycling and waste management firm Casepak, which has two facilities in Leicester, recently invested in three Linde H45D EVO counterbalance trucks of 4.5 tonnes capacity.

The vehicles are equipped with the Linde original hydrostatic transmission and factory-supplied recycling protection pack, suited to the requirements of a busy recycling facility.

Casepak did testing in the summer, when over-heating has been a problem. The engine block, transmission and exhaust manifold were surface temperature tested under full operating conditions.

Data from the drive unit found the Linde truck was more than 50° C cooler than the competitor truck also tested.

It was also found that the H45D would save Casepak 20% on fuel and the tyres would last almost twice as long.

Ben Grundy, business infrastructure manager, says: “Thorough tests of the equipment assisted us in making the right investment decision.”
