Value from car converters

Tetronics International’s plasma arc technology has gone live at precious metal recycler Duesmann & Hensel (D&H) Recycling’s plant near Frankfurt, Germany.

D&H is currently responsible for around 10% of the global recycled automotive catalytic converter market.

Swindon-based Tetronics’ plasma arc technology is being used to process and recover value from catalytic converters, used in the car exhaust systems to reduce pollutants, after D&H’s plant achieved Final Acceptance Test status.

The plant can process the converters from up to 1.85 million cars a year.
