There needs to be a Public Enquiry regarding HES.
Were they a victim of commercial collusion?
Did the authorities overreact?
Why were new contracts awarded to contractors that lacked experience in collecting healthcare waste?
How much extra is the NHS now paying for healthcare waste collections?
Has the heathcare waste industry substantially raised its charges/gate fees to take advantage of the situation?
There are some very interesting points made on HES's website that must be investigated.
How did Mitie win this contract?
What experience in collecting and transporting healthcare did they have?
How much more is the NHS having to pay to dispose of its waste?
These questions need answers.

This affair needs to be investigated by the Competition and Markets Authority.
How on earth can anyone say that the 2015 incident was minor health and safety breach. Defeating any safety guard is deplorable.
