What is your product?
Hanson’s QuickBuild retaining walls. The precast reinforced concrete units are designed to BS EN 1992-1:2004 and are available in seven heights from one metre to 3.75 metres. Individual corner units are also available.
How does it work?
The units are manufactured from high strength concrete and offer excellent durability, even in aggressive environments. They are easy to handle and feature a unique interlocking system to create bay storage or retain soil, rocks or liquid. Unlike alternative solutions, they are manufactured in narrow sections to maximise storage space.
Where would it ideally be used?
The retaining walls are ideal for temporary or permanent storage bays for recycling centres; retaining soil and rocks on steep slopes; storage tank solutions; and flood defence schemes.
How is it different?
Hanson is the only supplier in the UK market to offer units that can be cast with a preformed textured finish to enhance their appearance. The company can also offer national support, including a full design service for more complicated and bespoke requirements. This has included producing bespoke L-shaped wall units up to six metres high to maximise storage space for a client.

Prices start from around £55 for a one metre high unit and up to £385 for a 3.75 metre one. Costs for heights above our standard range are available on request.
The range has been designed to save time and money. The QuickLift system has been developed to minimise lifting times and eliminate working at height issues. It uses a standard lifting hook and a telehandler can complete a lift from delivery vehicle to final position with minimal secondary operations. All of the standard units also feature a unique interlocking system which allows accurate and fast alignment of the units. These features increase efficiency by up to 20%.
What about maintenance?
The retaining walls need no maintenance once installed.
What is its life span?
The units are Ec2 compliant and are designed for a minimum life of 50 years, with the option of extending this to 100 years if required.
