Washing system gets aggregates up to specification

Peterborough-based haulage and aggregate supplier PJ Thory has joined forces with Aggregate Processing Solutions (APS) to introduce a high-performance washing system to its operations.

Comprising a CDE M2500 and an AggMax 83R, the system is processing 1,000 tonnes a day of concrete aggregates at 10mm, 20mm and 40mm, as well as concrete sand, for its customer base across the region.

APS, the specialist washing arm of the Finlay Group, has a long association with PJ Thory and worked closely with the team to introduce the plant.

The CDE M2500 boasts feeding, screening, sand washing and stockpiling in one compact unit, and can produce four aggregate products and a single sand to specification.

Working in conjunction with the M2500 is an AggMax 83R, an enhanced log washer that gets the aggregates to the correct concrete specification through high attrition scrubbing, final rinsing and grading.

John Dunne, managing director of APS, said: “We installed a full turnkey operation to include a generator and all of the required water pipes, as well as the water supply and silt return pumps.

“It’s great to see the plant meeting the growing demands of a family-run business that prides itself on quality.”
