Former Green Alliance director Julie Hill is the new chair of the WRAP Board of Trustees, replacing Peter Stone.
Hill, above, moves to WRAP from chairing Green Alliance’s Circular Economy Task Force and other roles including serving as an advisor to the Environment Agency and being on the boards of the Eden Project and the Consumer Council for Water.
Board director David Palmer-Jones said her commercial background was ideal to the role, while she was a “passionate supporter” of the projects WRAP is working on.
“Julie Hill is internationally respected for her expertise in waste and resources issues, and is at the forefront of thinking about the circular economy,” he said.
Hill said she was delighted to be joining an organisation that was making a difference.
“WRAP’s staff have a track record of great authority, insight and the ability to turn ideas into action,” she said.
“This, combined with their powerful recycling and food waste consumer campaigns have helped to transform the way we think about waste and resources in the UK.”
Hill will be replaced at the head of the task force by Susan Armstrong Brown.
