WRAP looks to Welsh farmers for AD boost

WRAP has targeted Welsh farmers in a bid to boost anaerobic digestion.

WRAP Cymru has launched a guide that sets out how farmers can benefit from sourcing quality compost and biofertiliser.

It shows how to apply quality certified anaerobic digestates, commonly known as biofertilisers, to their land.

The organisation is working to create markets for the biofertiliser that will be produced by AD plants due to be running by 2013.

A spokesman said: “We have looked into methods of applying biofertiliser, as well as quantity and frequency of applications depending on the type of crop, and put this information into a safe biofertiliser matrix we hope will become a valuable tool for all farmers.”
